Bella Hristova, the First Prize recipient in the 2008-2009 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, joins the LSO to perform Bruch's Violin Concerto, played on her 1655 Nicoló Amati violin, once owned by the legendary violinist Louis Krasner. This concert also features a new work written by local composer Dr. Harry Bulow, Head of Visual and Performing Arts at Purdue University.

A concert of friendship and romance as seen through the eyes of Disney. Four vocal soloists perform songs that tell the tale in a journey of love that will touch your heart and rekindle the hope found in all of the Disney stories. Animated clips from your favorite Disney films will compliment the music featured in medleys that include the songs "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, " and "Bella Notte," "Part of Your World," and "Beauty and the Beast." The Disney villians have their moment of glory punctuated by the dramatic music "Battle with the Forces of Evil" from Sleeping Beauty, adapted from the original Tchaikovsky Ballet by Disney's staff composers.

The LSO welcomes back world-renowned pianist, Vassily Primokov for an encore performance featuring Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1. Since the release of his recording of the Chopin Piano Concercertos in 2008, Mr. Primakov has been hailed as a pianist of world class importance, and in 2007 he was named the Classical Recording Foundation's "Young Artist of the Year." We can't wait to see what Primakov will do next! Former LSO conductor Anne Harrigan will be returning as a quest conductor for the opening piece.
